Week Three of POW now up. SUPERPOWERS rough copy due Friday.
This week is Safe School's week. We will be practicing the various emergency procedures throughout the week.
Reminder to please send in student fees, book order forms and cookie dough order forms this week. Happy Wednesday! We are now into the third week of school and everyone seems to be settling in. Tomorrow is a big day though. In the morning we have two time Canadian Country award nominated artist Ryan Laird coming to talk and preform for our students. His message is about Bully Awareness. There will cd's and shirts on sale after the show. Tomorrow we will also be doing our part for the Terry Fox Run. The torch is expected to reach our school around 10:50 and the whole school will participate in a walk at 1:35. Today I sent home an information sheet regarding POW. I'm asking that you sign and return the form as soon as possible. Good copies are due on Friday, however, we will be working on them in class Wednesday so please don't rush ahead. I have added a page to the website just for POW and will keep it updated weekly. You can also use the link below to take you to the page.
POW I am asking student's to have four Hilroy type scribblers/ notebooks in as soon as possible. If you have spiral notebooks those will work fine. Meet the Teacher Open House is this Wednesday at 6:00 pm. Looking forward to meeting many of you. I am really pleased with how well our new grade sixer's have transitioned into Middle School. It can be a difficult change with the new independence of traveling from class to class and not having a desk to store their belongings. Organization can be a challenge. Please take the time to look at your student's binder and have them explain where they are putting information or work from each subject. Remind your student that they need to bring their binder (with paper) and a pencil with them to each class. Just a reminder that we are looking for data forms, photo release, signed agenda (code of conduct part) and student fees. Student's will be working in class on their letter's which will be due on Monday. If you would like to write your own letter to me regarding your child, please feel free to send it in or email me with thoughts, comments or concerns that will make this transition easier.
The first newsletter was sent home today. e-copy of Sept~ NEWSLETTER HPMS e-copy of cafeteria~ Menu Another great day under our belt! Just a reminder that student data, photo release, agenda/code of conduct, and $20 student fees are due. Soccer tryouts will be beginning soon and we are still looking for coaches and helpers. Please contact the school if you have the time to help out with this or any other activity. 357-4070.
Wow! What a great start to the year. Trying to learn combination locks in the heat was a little nerve wracking but everyone did a great job. For homework there are some forms that do need to be filled out, agenda's need to be signed and student fees should be sent in as soon as possible. I am asking for four Hilroy (type notebooks) for Language Arts class. Sorry for any inconvenience,I realize it was not on the supply list. I know they have some on at Walmart for .45 and I have also seen them at the Dollar Store.
